Josh Mateo is a design leader with expertise in building creative infrastructure that scales brand decisions in product. Over the last decade, Josh has led design systems at Netflix (Hawkins) and Spotify (Encore). He believes systems are an influential vehicle to deliver a cultural change in how teams approach building high-quality products as a connected ecosystem.

Mateus "Matt" Da Silva (he/him) is a designer and musician who is passionate about systems thinking and empowering others through design. Originally from Brazil and based in Florida, his journey as an immigrant has made him attuned to the nuances of designing for different cultures. Matt leverages his unique perspective to collaborate with a diverse range of individuals on the Netflix Hawkins Design System and help scale the Netflix experience to fulfill its mission of entertaining the world.

The Design System Lead at The Washington Post, a dedicated professional who seamlessly blends creativity, technology, and strategy to shape the growing system of components & foundations to help bring news and stories to all. Off-duty, he is an avid cartoon enthusiast, game dev, mountain biker, and nature photographer. Super proud to be in the 3D club (Designer, Developer, and Dad).

Dan Mall is a husband, dad, teacher, creative director, designer, founder, and entrepreneur from Philly. He runs Design System University, where he creates, collects, and curates curriculum, content, and community to help enterprise teams design at scale. Previously, Dan ran design system consultancy SuperFriendly for over a decade. Dan writes about design systems, process, and leadership and other issues on his site danmall.com, in his weekly newsletter, and on Twitter and Instagram.

Author of gridless.design; a thesis on mismatching the design grid to the web medium. Donnie is also a member of the NYC chapter IxDA. He is an instructor for User Research and Interaction Design at Parsons School of Design. Currently, he works as the engineering lead for the UXCore library at GoDaddy. Previously, he was the first UX Engineer at Compass.

Juli is the design lead for Encore, Spotify's family of design systems. Prior to that, she led the multi-brand design system at Conde Nast. Juli is an experienced leader with a passion for innovation and cross-functional collaboration. She has a deep understanding of the principles and practices that underpin successful design systems, and she loves evangelizing for systems thinking.

Currently a Staff Product Designer on the Pinterest Gestalt design system. His primary focus has been design systems, pattern libraries, and style guides for B2B and enterprise software. He has also worked in advertising, marketing, and education. In his free time, he plays and writes music and makes art.

Kaelig is a principal software engineer at Netlify and co-chair of the Design Tokens Community Group. In the past, he’s worked on various design systems, such as Shopify Polaris and the Salesforce Lightning Design System.

Originally from the UK, Shaun has been living and working in Sweden for the last 6 years, where he leads engineering for Spotify’s design system, Encore, across Web, iOS and Android. Shaun is passionate about using the power of engineering to solve design challenges which bring design and engineering closer together. Prior to working at Spotify, he played a leading role in the growth and development of the BBC’s Design System, GEL.
